Building a stronger body doesn’t happen overnight.

Yet, with the right daily habits, you can build that coveted body that can carry you through all the activities you want to participate in.

So try scheduling some of these habits into your daily routine. Soon, you’ll discover just how beneficial they are to achieving your fitness goals.

Habit #1: Choose the Right Workout

You need a workout that will help you tone up and build strength. But that doesn’t mean that you have to be at the gym lifting weights for every workout.

Instead, try the library of body weight exercises in the Sworkit app. Or simply create a routine that uses materials you already have on hand. Both options will serve you well in creating a regimen that works for you.

The most progress toward a strong, healthy body isn’t made through intermittent workouts that are shoved in when you remember. Rather, it’s made when you make a commitment to exercising several times a week, preferably on the same days each week to build that habit!

Habit #2: Track Your Progress

Did you manage to do three more push-ups today than you did yesterday? How many more is that than you could do last month? What weights are you using when you lift?

You see, by tracking your progress, you accomplish two key things:

First and foremost, you know exactly what to try to do for your next workout so that you can keep making progress toward your goals. Second, you’ll be able to track your progress over time so that you’ll see exactly what your efforts are accomplishing.

Habit #3: Set and Review Your Goals

What are your goals when it comes to exercising? Do you want to be stronger? Faster? Do you want to lift heavier weights or complete more reps?

Setting clear goals and reviewing them on a regular basis allows you to create a more effective routine geared toward reaching those goals.

Reviewing your goals can also help provide you with the motivation you need to be successful.

Habit #4: Get Plenty of Sleep

There’s a delicate balance between somewhere–anywhere–finding the time to do all the things you need to do in the day and getting enough rest that you’re able to accomplish it.

When you sleep, your body heals your muscles and helps create the strength that you’ve built through your daily exercises.

Adequate sleep can also help give you the energy to dive in with a tough workout routine, improving your motivation and making it easier for you to reach your goals.

Habit #5: Add Accountability

When you have clear goals, recruit accountability partners who will help you reach them!

Sharing your goals with a friend or joining an online community is an excellent strategy for staying the course. They will hold you accountable for keeping up with your workouts.

Continuing your progress will help prevent you from making silly excuses or taking a day off for no other reason than that you’re “too busy” or “don’t want to.”

Accountability also makes it harder to ignore a lack of progress over time, since it forces you to see just how long it’s been since you met your last goal. Check in with your accountability partners regularly to discover the benefits of working out in a community.
